Titans get four from AHL, one from IR

TRENTON, NJ (February 25, 2004) - The Trenton Titans announced today that the Providence Bruins of the AHL have sent down center Robert Liscak and defenseman Peter Metcalf and Martin Wilde. In addition, the Philadelphia Phantoms (AHL) have assigned left wing Nick Deschenes.

Liscak – 6'0, 200 – has appeared in 27 games for the Providence Bruins this season, notching four assists and 12 PIM. The rookie from Skalica, Slovakia was a four year player at the University of Maine and was signed as a free agent by the Boston Bruins on July 25, 2003

Metcalf – 6'0, 205 – comes to the Titans for second time this year. In four games with Trenton earlier this season, Metcalf tallied a power play goal and 4 PIM. The second-year pro skated along side Liscak for three years at the University of Maine. Metcalf was named to the Hockey East All-Rookie Team in 1998-99 and helped Maine win the NCAA National Championship that season.

Wilde – 6'4, 225 – has skated in 48 games for the Bruins this year after spending last season with MoDo of the Swedish Elite League. A native of Linkoping, Sweden, Wilde played collegiate hockey for the University of Vermont, along with current Titans Andrew Allen, Shawn Conschafter and BJ Kilbourne.

Deschenes – 6'3, 220 – returns to the Titans for the third time this season, where he has 3 points (2g, 1a) in five games. The first-year pro out of Morinville, Alberta played for four years at Yale University, recording 87 points (36g, 51a) in 114 games.

In a separate move, the Titans announced that Scott Bertoli has come off the 7-day injured reserve. Before suffering a concussion against the Wheeling Nailers on January 23, Bertoli was one of hottest Titans on the ice, recording 19 points (9g, 10a) in 12 games.

All players will be available for tonight's game against the Johnstown Chiefs.

The Trenton Titans are a member of the ECHL – America's Premier "AA" Hockey League. The Trenton Titans play at the Sovereign Bank Arena in Trenton, NJ. The Titans begin a two-game series at home. The Titans face off against Johnstown Chiefs on Wednesday, February 25 at 7:00pm and then the Dayton Bombers on Friday, February 27 at 7:30pm.
