Texas Wildcatters News Release

BEAUMONT, TX (February 25, 2004) – Texas Wildcatters Head Coach Robert Dirk announced today that the team has acquired forward Adam Stefishen and defenseman Mark Jackson from the Fresno Falcons in exchange for Wildcatters forward Brian Passmore.

"The trade gives us an additional body, which we need right now with all of our injuries," said Dirk.

Stefishen, 21, had five points and 149 penalty minutes in 33 games with the Falcons this season. He is currently in his rookie season in North America after spending the last two years playing in Europe. The 6-foot, 200-pound forward from North Vancouver, British Columbia will wear # 22 this weekend.

Jackson, 22, played seven games with the Cleveland Barons of the AHL last year after completing his four year college career at the University of Wisconsin. In 46 games with Fresno this year, he has registered 10 points and 100 penalty minutes. The 6-foot-1, 200-pound defenseman hails from St. Albert, ALTA. He will wear # 5 this weekend.

Passmore had 13 points in 26 games with Texas after being acquired from Greenville in December. The rookie forward's combined ECHL totals for the year are 14 goals and 15 assists in 54 games.

The Wildcatters will host the Mississippi Sea Wolves on Saturday at 7:05 p.m. The team will travel to Louisiana for game Sunday at 4:05 p.m. against the IceGators.

During Saturday night's game against Mississippi, the Wildcatters will wear special Mardi Gras jerseys. After the game, the jerseys will be sold as part of a live, on-ice auction. A portion of the proceeds will benefit Girls Haven.
