SERIES HISTORY:

The Gulls and Falcons have met four times this season with both teams winning two games apiece. The two teams will clash five more times in the regular season.

San Diego owns the all-time series match-up, posting a 65-28-6 record against its Pacific Division rival.

LAST HEAD-TO-HEAD MEETING: FEB. 21:

Terry Friesen turned away 51 of 54 shots, leading Fresno to a 5-3 win over the Gulls, ending San Diego's 14-game home winning streak. Despite being out-shot 15-2 midway through the first, the Falcons were still able to get on the board, thanks to Mike Mathers' first of the game. Sandro Sbrocca tied it later in the frame, but the Falcons scored twice in the second period to grab a 3-1 lead. Billy Tibbetts crept San Diego back within one early in the third, but Fresno regained the two-goal advantage moments later. Trevor Koenig replaced starting goaltender David Burleigh and the Gulls again drew within one, but Mathers sealed the win with an empty-netter.

GULLS UPDATE:

The Gulls (35-12-6) enter the day with the second-best overall record in the ECHL, tied with the Atlantic City Boardwalk Bullies and four points behind the Wheeling Nailers... San Diego remains atop the Western Conference, two points ahead of the Louisiana Ice Gators... The Blue and Orange hold a six-point cushion over the Las Vegas Wranglers for first place in the Pacific Division... San Diego's ECHL season-high 14-game home winning streak came to an end on Saturday... Fresno is only the second Pacific Division team to beat the Gulls on their home ice (21-2-0)... They are 23-5-0 at home overall this season... San Diego is 12-7-6 on the road this season, including a 1-1 mark in Fresno... The Blue and Orange are unbeaten in 17 of their last 19 games (14-2-3) and 30 of their last 35 (26-5-4)...

OTHER NOTES:

San Diego is 32-9-4 against Pacific Division teams... The Gulls have outscored their opponents 126-80 during the last 35 games... Koenig is third in the ECHL with 25 wins... He's tied for fourth among ECHL goaltenders with a 2.24 goals-against average... The Gulls are four points away from clinching a playoff spot...

PEDERSON, BARBER, DESCHATELETS UPDATE:

The red-hot line of Pederson, Greg Barber and Sylvain Deschatelets has combined for 100 points (39g, 61a) in the last 23 games... Pederson has 43 points (25g, 18a) in his last 28 games and leads the ECHL with 36 goals... Barber has 36 points (13g, 23a) in his last 23 games and is tied for first among all ECHL rookies with 57 points overall... Deschatelets has 43 points (10g, 33a) in the last 28 games and is in the midst of a four-game goal-scoring streak...

FRESNO UPDATE:

The Falcons (15-31-6) enter the day last in the Pacific Division with 36 points, 26 behind the Alaska Aces for the fourth and final playoff spot... They also have the worst record in the Western Conference and the second-worst record in the entire league... After beating the Gulls on Saturday, Fresno suffered a 3-2 loss in Las Vegas last night... Kevin Truelson has the game-winning goal in each of the Falcons' two wins against San Diego this season... Kris Porter leads the club with 34 points (11g, 23a)...

TRANSACTIONS:

Brian Gornick was recalled by the American Hockey League's Cincinnati Mighty Ducks on Sunday... Dennis Purdie (shoulder) and Kevin (Grant) remain on the injured list... Josh Gratton remains with the AHL's Mighty Ducks...
