Royals 'Bully' Atlantic City...Bury Defending Champs, 6-2

Rookie forward David Masse (2g, 2a) tallied a season-high four points, and four other Royals' skaters picked up multiple points, as Reading beat Atlantic City, 6-2.

The win was the Royals 20th this season against teams with a winning record, while moving the club to an ECHL-best, 21-1-3 on home ice.

Reading (31-15-8) notched four goals in the first 20 minutes of play, and headed to the first intermission leading 4-0. Masse opened and closed the home team's scoring in the first stanza, with goals by forwards Kent Davyduke (1g, 1a) and Lars Pettersen (1g, 2a)sandwiched in between.

The Royals went scoreless in the second period, but forward Peter Hay (1g, 1a) and defenseman Regan Rome (1g) netted third period markers, to ice the game.

Peter Hamerlik (9-6-3) made 29 saves for his ninth win of the year, as he remained unbeaten in his last seven contests (6-0-1). The victory improved Reading to 2-3-2 against their division rival, and helped them move to within six points of the Boardwalk Bullies (36-13-4).

The Royals return to the ice this weekend for a two-game road trip beginning on Friday, February 27th, and continuing on Saturday, February 28th. Both games are at Peoria with the broadcasts beginning at 7:40 pm EST.

Reading returns home to host Johnstown on Wednesday, March 3rd. The puck drops at 7:05 pm.
