Tips' Comeback Effort Falls Just Short, Seattle Wins 4-3

EVERETT, Wash. - Everett's relentless effort fell just short at Angel of the Winds Arena on Saturday night, as the Seattle Thunderbirds took a 4-3 regulation win.

Conner Roulette grabbed the early lead for the Thunderbirds, potting a breakaway goal on the powerplay for his 19th of the season. Matthew Rempe would later net a short-handed goal, sneaking a backhand shot through Braden Holt for a 2-0 Seattle lead.

Lukas Svejkovsky would give the Thunderbirds a 3-0 advantage at 8:30 in the second period, chasing Holt from the contest. With Holt relieved by Koen MacInnes, the Silvertips began mounting a comeback effort, with Olen Zellweger finding Hunter Campbell with a cross-slot pass for Everett's first tally of the game. Zellweger would later net a goal of his own, a one-timer on a 5-on-3 powerplay to bring the Tips within one. Jackson Berezowski would bury his 36th of the season from his backside to equalize the score at 16:40 in the period.

Seattle would re-take the lead in the final minute of the second, as Lucas Ciona snuck a goalline shot past MacInnes for a 4-3 Seattle edge. Despite a late-game flurry of shots, the Thunderbirds hung on for a narrow victory. Thomas Milic stopped 37 of 40 in the victory.

The Silvertips welcomed 7,473 fans for Navy Night, their largest crowd of the season.

The Silvertips are back home Friday, Mar. 11 for a matchup with the Spokane Chiefs. Puck drop is scheduled for 7:05 p.m. Tickets are available.
