An overall quiet start to the game was interrupted by Edmonton notching two goals in the last five minutes of the first period. Dylan Guenther netted Edmonton's first goal, while Kaiden Guhle followed up with the second just under two minutes later.

Blake Stevenson got Calgary back in it less a minute into the second period cutting the lead in half. Oliver Tulk followed up with the equalizer at 6:59 to tie the game at two. Edmonton took the lead shortly after with a goal from Logan Dowhaniuk. Their two goal lead was regained when Shea Van Olm capitalized on a turnover inside the blue to make it 4-2. Edmonton's fifth and sixth goals came in the first half of the third from Cole Miller and Jakub Demek. In the last seconds of the game, Dawson Seitz capped off the scoring for Edmonton, propelling them to a 7-2 victory.

The Hitmen are back home tomorrow afternoon on Saturday, Mar. 5 for a rematch with the Oil Kings at Scotiabank Saddledome. The 2:00 p.m. starts is the Bret "The Hitman" Hart game presented by Romero Distilling where Calgary will wear a special pink jersey that pays tribute to their namesake. Fans are encouraged to stick around post-game to witness "Battle at the Dome II" featuring five wrestling matches in an on-ice ring put on by the Hitmen and PWA (Prairie Wrestling Alliance). Calgary will then open a season long eight game road trip on Tuesday, Mar. 8 in Winnipeg.
