Maika Janat-Vennemann - Sport Oregon Senior Director, GM
Chelsea Moore - Rose City Hockey Club Coach & Gear Captain
Christi Smith-Ryan - Director of Strength & Conditioning at Central Catholic High School
After the game, stick around and hit the ice in the VMC for another community skate! Rental skates are available if needed.
Early Action
They got the job done last night, but you can bet the Hawks would have liked to avoid the early 2-0 hole they found themselves in against Everett.
"We all know that wasn't our best start, but I thought the boys rallied back really well and I thought we showed some good character there and it felt amazing especially because we're in a race right now to catch them. When you're winning, you almost have a kind of a swagger to you and we're playing with confidence throughout the lineup and are still the hottest team in hockey," said James Stefan, who scored two goals in last night's victory.
Look for the team to start fast tonight in search of an early goal. A quick strike gives the team energy and confidence to pile on the offense. Plus, it gets the home crowd going early in what should be an electric Saturday night in downtown Portland. Speaking of which...
Home Cooking
So good to be home! After a couple of weeks on the road, the Hawks are finally in front of the best fans in the WHL once again.
After last night's rousing comeback win over top-seeded Everett, the race is on for the top spot in the U.S. Division. The Hawks now sit just five points behind the Silvertips, with one more game played. Each win and loss feels even bigger at this time of year, and the stakes are high no matter the opponent.
With another divisional game on tap, it's sure to be a heck of a night in the VMC. Bring the noise, Hawks fans!
