Americans @ Winterhawks

Saturday, March 5 | Portland, OR | Veterans Memorial Coliseum

Start Time: 7:05 p.m PST

The Americans and Winterhawks will face each other tonight for the 10th time in their 12 game season series.

Tri-City is 3-6-0-0 against the Winterhawks so far this season with two of their victories coming in a shootout. All three victories have came with a different Americans goaltender in net. Tomas Suchanek is the only goalie to play for the Americans this year without a win against Portland. The Americans will look to overcome the surging Winterhawks and get back in the win column after losing their last two.

The Americans took on the Thunderbirds last night at the Toyota Center. Tomas Suchanek shined in net as he turned aside 37 of 39 shots, but the Americans ultimately fell 3-1 to Seattle. Tri-City opened scoring in the first period with a goal from Sam Huo, scored top-shelf and set up by Parker Bell off a forced turnover at center ice. Seattle replied later in the period with a power play goal from Conner Roulette to tie the game. They took the lead 5:35 into the second frame after a unfortunate bounce off Suchanek's stick. Seattle added an empty net goal in the final minute of play after Tri-City pulled Suchanek for an extra attacker. Huo extends his point streak to six games with six goals and six assists over that period.

Record: Tri-City 15-31-5-0 | Portland 35-13-3-2
