Greenville Grrrowl News Release

GREENVILLE, S.C. – The Greenville Grrrowl of the East Coast Hockey League has announced a time change for an upcoming home game on Tuesday, February 18, 2003 against the Cincinnati Cyclones. The game was originally scheduled for an 11:05AM start, and will now begin at 10:35AM. The change was made to accommodate transportation schedules for area schools.

This is the first "Education Day" in franchise history, and will also be the first weekday day-game for the Grrrowl. Attendees will receive information on educational facts associated with the game of hockey, such as science, math, geography, physical fitness, and language skills. Students who attend the game will receive handouts, which will include a test for them to complete and return to their teachers after their experience at the BI-LO Center.

"This will be a unique opportunity for school children in the upstate to learn how their everyday lessons relate to the great sport of hockey", said Carl Scheer, Chairman/CEO of ScheerSports, Inc. "Our players come from many places around the world, and the game of hockey has many facets that can be used to teach all fans in attendance. We look forward to hosting this first-time event in the BI-LO Center."

Special group prices are available to school groups and daycare learning centers. Ticket information for Education Day can be obtained by calling 864-467-GRRR (4777).

The Grrrowl will return to the BI-LO Center on Friday, February 7, 2003 against the South Carolina Stingrays, following a four-game road trip coming on the heals of the annual three-day ECHL All-Star break. Tickets for all Grrrowl games are available at the BI-LO Center box office and all TicketMaster outlets. Call (864) 467-GRRR or log onto www.grrrowl.com for more team and ticket information.
