Condors shutout Steelheads 5-0
The Condors tallied five times on 14 shots and Kevin St. Pierre stopped 34 shots for his third shutout of the season on Wednesday night in a 5-0 win. Christoffer Norgren scored two goals and added an assist, while Paul Rosebush scored twice as well. The Condors improved to 3-2 against Idaho this season with the win. It was the first game back in the lineup for St. Pierre, who missed nearly three weeks with an injured groin. He was tested early, as the Steelheads put up 14 first period shots, but he was able to stand in and get the win. The Condors managed just 14 shots in the entire game.
Friday, January 17
Bakersfield thumps Long Beach 5-1
The Condors traveled to Long Beach for a pair of games on Friday and Saturday night, the first of which they won 5-1. Paul Willett and Zdenek Vanc exchanged first period tallies to make the score 1-1 after one period. After that, it was all Condors, who scored twice in each the second and the third period. Kevin St. Pierre stopped 34 shots in the game, including 26 shots in the final two periods. Willett picked up another goal, while Jon Sorg, Christian Skoryna and Jeff Goldie also tallied in the win.
Saturday, January 18
Condors sweep Ice Dogs
The following night, Bakersfield handed the Ice Dogs a 7-2 thrashing to sweep the two-game set. Seven different Condors recorded multi-point games. Long Beach scored once in the first period, and once in the third, but in between, Bakersfield scored six consecutive goals. The line of Jason Ralph-Nate Anderson-Paul Rosebush recorded 3g-4a-7pts and Jon Sorg tallied four assists. The Condors matched their season high with seven goals, and won their fourth straight game and 20th of the season.
Sunday, January 19

Victory over Idaho seals perfect week
Bakersfield hosted Idaho on Sunday night for the second time in five days. Both teams were playing their fourth game in five nights, but the Condors were able to prevail 5-3. Jamie Cooke scored two goals for the second time in three nights to take a share of the team's goal-scoring lead with 14 tallies on the season. Bakersfield scored two in the first frame and three in the second, on just 11 shots through two periods, and held off Idaho in the final stanza for the win. Kevin St. Pierre improved to 4-1 this season against the first-place Steelheads as Bakersfield won their fifth in a row.
This Week
Bakersfield hosts a pair of big games this weekend as the San Diego Gulls come into town. Friday's game, a 7:00pm start at Centennial Garden, features the anticipated team card set giveaway. The first 3,000 fans will pick up a set of the 2002-03 squad, sponsored by Time Warner Cable, FOX Sports 800 and Wm. K. Lyons Insurance.
Friday's game will be telecast live on Time Warner Cable Ch. 21, and replayed on Saturday morning at 10:00am.
On Saturday night, the first 2,000 children 12 and under will receive a Kevin St. Pierre bobblehead doll, sponsored by KGET-TV 17 and Carl's Jr. That game starts at 7:00pm as well. Bakersfield is 3-5 this season against San Diego, including 1-2 on home ice. Both teams are red hot, with the Condors winning five straight and the Gulls victorious in their last four contests. The weekend will be a battle for second place, as the Gulls currently lead the Condors by four points in the standings.

Notes
· Kevin St. Pierre has recorded the second-highest single season win total in franchise history on Friday night. He has 20 wins now on the season, and stands seven wins shy of the record. Lee Schill's 27 victories in 1996-97 is the franchise mark. St. Pierre is already third in career victories in the franchise's history.
· Jason Ralph leads the league in plus/minus at +20. In his last five games, he has 2g-9a-11pts and is +11 with four multi-point games.
· Bakersfield has won five straight games for the second time this season.
· The Condors are the only team in the league with a winning record against Idaho, at 4-2. Bakersfield has won three of their last four meetings. On Wednesday and Sunday combined, Bakersfield scored 10 goals on just 32 shots.
