Binghamton Rumble Ponies News Release

BINGHAMTON, NY - The Binghamton Mets are slated to welcome back a face from the past when New York Mets shortstop Jose Reyes takes the field at NYSEG Stadium for a three-game rehabilitation stint beginning tomorrow and running through Saturday. Good seats remain for all three games, although tickets are going fast for this rare visit from a four-time National League All-Star.

Reyes first set foot in Binghamton in 2002 as a 19-year old middle infielder. In 65 games with the B-Mets, he hit .287 with 16 doubles, 8 triples, 24 RBI and 27 stolen bases. The fleet-of-foot teenager garnered Eastern League All-Star honors following the season. He would return in June 2004 for a brief, four-game rehab stint before returning to New York.

The B-Mets last rehab player was right-hander John Maine, who made one start for Binghamton on the road at Trenton June 13, 2010. NYSEG Stadium has not hosted a Mets' rehabber since 2008 when the B-Mets featured appearances from Luis Castillo, Ryan Church, Orlando "El Duque" Hernandez and Billy Wagner.

Gates open at 5:30 PM for Thursday's 6:35 PM game. Friday and Saturday are both 7:05 PM games. Gates will open at 5:30 PM Friday and 6:00 PM Saturday.

For tickets to these and all remaining 2011 Binghamton Mets home games, visit BMETS.com, call (607) 723-METS (6387), visit the NYSEG Stadium ticket office or stop by the On-Deck Circle Team Store in the Oakdale Mall.
