BOWIE, Md. - The Bowie Baysox announce today Fan Appreciation Night at Prince George's Stadium Sunday, Sept. 4, as the Baysox take on the Erie SeaWolves at 2:05 p.m. The event features a giveaway for all fans ages three and up, a meet the team autograph session, free raffles for assorted prizes and the opportunity for all fans to sing the national anthem and to run the bases after the game.
The first 1,000 fans ages three and up to enter the stadium receive a free reversible Baysox beanie cap. The cap is black on one side and orange on the other, and both sides feature Baysox logos.
Baysox General Manager Brian Shallcross looks forward to the event. "Fan appreciation night allows us to reflect and honor our loyal fans who have supported our team both on and off the field," Shallcross said. "As the Baysox fish for our first Eastern League championship in 2011, I look forward to this event to thank our fans for their support."
Stadium gates open for the event at 12:30 p.m. and Baysox players and coaches are available to sign autographs and pose for photos from 12:30 p.m. until 1:15 p.m. Baysox pitching coach Kennie Steenstra and that day's starting pitcher and catcher are not available for autographs.
Before the game, all fans are invited to sing the national anthem in unison, and after the game all fans are invited to run the bases. During the game, fans can register to enter the free raffle for Baysox memorabilia and prizes on the stadium concourse.
