Thunder HOPE Week Set for June 24-29 at ARM & HAMMER Park

The Thunder, presented by NJM Insurance, are pleased to announce honorees and events as part of their participation in HOPE Week.

HOPE Week is a New York Yankees initiative aimed at honoring outstanding organizations and individuals who do good in the local community. HOPE Week, which stands for helping others persevere and excel, is in it's 10th Anniversary Season in 2019.

Monday, June 24 vs. Reading: Real Men Wear Pink Campaign

In cooperation with the American Cancer Society, the Thunder will honor a member of the Real Men Wear Pink Campaign, a program dedicated to raise awareness and funds for American Cancer Society's breast cancer initiatives.

Tuesday, June 25 vs. Reading: Special Olympics of New Jersey

The Thunder will honor more than a dozen Special Olympics of New Jersey Athletes on the field prior to the game. Many of the athletes participated in a special baseball camp at ARM & HAMMER Park on Wednesday, June 19 with Thunder players and coaches.

The first 1,500 fans, ages 14 and older, will receive a special Tommy Smith Bobblehead doll giveaway upon entry, presented by the Special Olympics of New Jersey.

Wednesday, June 26 vs. Reading: Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital Hamilton

Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital Hamilton provides a network of comprehensive healthcare services which includes hospital care, prevention and wellness, primary and specialty medical services and diagnostic & treatment services in the community. Thunder players and coaches visited patients on June 20 to raise the spirits or patients and spend time with their families.

Thursday, June 27 vs. New Hampshire: Hometown Heroes

The Thunder are pleased to honor Hometown Heroes, nominated by Thunder fans, on the field prior to the game on Thursday, June 27. Thunder players and coaches volunteered their time to serve members of the community at Captain Paul's Firehouse Dogs on June 20.

The first 1,000 fans, ages six and older, will receive a Hometown Heroes Card Set Giveaway, presented by Wells Fargo, upon entry to the game on Thursday, June 27.

Friday, June 28 vs. New Hampshire: Vs. Cancer

Thunder players and front office staff will participate in Vs. Cancer's drive to raise money and awareness for pediatric cancer research by doing a special head shaving event after the game. To make a donation to any participants fundraiser for Vs. Cancer research click here.

The Thunder will welcome Justin Wire, a young man who has had a lengthy battle with a brain cancer tumor, for a special pre-game ceremony.

Saturday, June 29 vs. New Hampshire: Boys and Girls Club of Mercer County

The Thunder will welcome members of the Latino Community as part of the third El Trueno de Trenton night at ARM & HAMMER Park. Thunder players and coaches will visit the Boys and Girls Club of Mercer County on Friday, June 28 and Dave Anderson, President & CEO of the Boys and Girls Club of Mercer County will be honored on the field prior to the game for his commitment to improving the community.
