Trenton Thunder News Release

(TRENTON, NJ) The Trenton Thunder, Double-A Affiliate of the New York Yankees, announced today that Yankees 2007 first-round pick RHP Andrew Brackman has been added to the roster. The 6-10, 232 pound Brackman will make his Double-A debut tonight at Waterfront Park to open a three game weekend series against New Hampshire.

After slow start to the season, Brackman won five of his last six decisions at High-A Tampa to earn the promotion. In 12 starts this year Brackman is 5-4 with a 5.10 ERA. The NC State product has struck out 56 batters and walked just nine in 60 innings pitched.

Brackman was named the 10th best prospect by Baseball America for 2010 and tabbed by the publication as having the organizations "best fastball". Brackman is currently on the Yankees 40-man roster.

The Thunder begin a three-game series at Waterfront park tonight at 7:05 pm. The first 1,500 fans will receive the 2010 Thunder team card set courtesy of Verizon Wireless. Brackman will make the start against RHP Zach Stewart for New Hampshire. Tickets are available by contacting the box office at 609-394-3300 or online at www.trentonthunder.com.
