Three Home Games This Week For High-Flying Bears

The HERSHEY BEARS Hockey Club ran its current winning streak to five Saturday night, defeating the Bridgeport Sound Tigers 4-1 at GIANT Center. The victory was HERSHEY'S sixth in eight home games this season.

HERSHEY hosts Binghamton Wednesday night at 7:00 p.m. before traveling to Albany Friday night. Philadelphia and Norfolk come to town this Saturday and Sunday to face the BEARS. Tickets are on sale now at the GIANT Center box office, or by calling (717) 534-3911.

Around the first turn: The BEARS played its 20th game of the regular season Saturday night, marking the end of the first quarter of the 2008-09 season. HERSHEY is on pace for 56 wins and 116 points with 25 percent of the schedule in the books.

Five alive: For the second time this season, the BEARS have won five straight games. HERSHEY opened the season with five straight victories from October 8 to October 18, and have now won five in a row dating back to November 14.

Friday night lights: The BEARS are a perfect 6-0-0-0 this season in games played on Friday nights. HERSHEY is at Albany this Friday to play the River Rats at Times Union Center.

Don't call it a comeback: Entering play this Wednesday night, the BEARS are a perfect 11-0-0-0 when leading after two periods in 2008-09. In addition, HERSHEY is 9-1-0-0 this season when leading after just one period.

Upcoming promotions- Wednesday is Ames Services Night when the BEARS host Binghamton The first 5,000 fans will receive a free rally towel courtesy of Ames Services. Wednesday is also Stroehmann Bakeries / Canteen & Covenco Vending Services Turkey Shoot night. Fans will have the opportunity to win Thanksgiving food items on ice following the game.

Washington update-Following a 1-2-0-0 road stretch through California last week, the first place Washington Capitals are in Minnesota on Monday night to play the Wild at Xcel Energy Center. Washington will finally return to Verizon Center this Wednesday night to take on the Atlanta Thrashers at 7:00 p.m.
