Houston Aeros News Release
THIS WEEK'S GAMES
The Houston Aeros will enjoy Thanksgiving here in Houston but will let the turkey and pumpkin pie settle in time for a three-in-three this weekend. The Milwaukee Admirals will be in town Friday and Sunday for games at 7:35 p.m. and 4:05 p.m. respectively. The Aeros will take a quick drive to San Antonio for a 7 p.m. game Saturday as Milwaukee waits in Houston.
Houston has a 24-17-5-3 home record against the Admirals including a 3-0 win on October 13, the first shutout in the American Hockey League this season. Overall the Aeros have a 40-42-9-4 record against Milwaukee. Last season the Aeros split the series 3-3-0-2 with all three wins coming at Toyota Center. The Aeros are currently on a three-game win streak versus Milwaukee including the last two games of the 2007-08 regular season. Jesse Schultz leads all Aeros in career points against Milwaukee with 13 (6 goals, 7 assists.)
The San Antonio Rampage enter the week with a 0-12-0-1 streak but play three games prior to Houston's visit on Saturday. With back-to-back wins over San Antonio in October Houston extended their win-streak to three games against the Rampage. Houston has a 46-17-6-3 all-time record against San Antonio. Houston's Bryan Lundbohm leads Aeros' skaters with 15 points (5 goals, 10 assists) against the Rampage. Goaltender Nolan Schaefer has a record of 8-3-0 - including three shutouts - vs. San Antonio and a 1.82 goals against average (GAA) and a .935 save percentage.
WEEK IN REVIEW
The Hamilton Bulldogs took control in the second period with three goals and held on for a 4-0 shutout of the Houston Aeros in front of 3,665 fans Sunday at Toyota Center. The shutout was the second the Aeros (8-9-0-1) suffered this season dropping their record below .500 for the first time since November 30 of last season.
Worcester's Riley Armstrong had a pair of goals including the game winner as the Sharks defeated the Houston Aeros 5-3 Saturday night in front of 8,168 fans at Toyota Center - the largest crowd so far this season at Toyota Center. The win marked the Sharks' third in a row and improved their record to 8-8-0-0. John Scott scored the go-ahead goal for the Aeros just 1:30 into the final period, but the Aeros couldn't hold on for the victory. Eight different Aeros players recorded a point in the contest, including Corey Locke extending his assist streak to three games for a total of five assists.
