
IceHogs in middle of West Division log jam

Rockford IceHogs News Release
There isn't a whole lot of breathing room atop the AHL's West Division as the Rockford IceHogs are in the middle of a six team pack battling for second place. With a win and a loss in Week 7, Rockford sits in a three-way tie for second place with Iowa and Peoria, two points ahead of Milwaukee, three in front of Quad City and four more than Houston. Thanksgiving week has three games slated for the IceHogs, all against West Division foes.

Friday, Nov. 21: Peoria 3 vs. Rockford 1
Saturday, Nov. 22: Quad City 4 vs. Rockford 5 (SO)
Week 8 Schedule
Wednesday, Nov. 26 vs. San Antonio, 7:05 p.m.
Friday, Nov. 28 at Peoria 7 p.m.
Saturday, Nov. 29 vs. Peoria, 7:05 p.m.
Bacon Bits:
-When the IceHogs score three or more goals they are 9-0-0-0 this season
-Out of those nine games, Rockford has scored four or more goals in eight of them
-The IceHogs are 1-7-0-1 in games when they score two or less goals
-Rockford is 8-3-0-1 against the AHL's West Division this season
-The IceHogs are 2-3-0-0 against teams outside the division
-Rockford's goalies have held the opposition to 6-21 (71.4%) in the shootout this season and a 4-1 shootout record
-Rockford's four shootout wins are the most in the AHL this season
-The IceHogs are 10-26 (38.5%) in the shootout this season
-Rockford has scored 52 goals through 18 games this season and half of them have come on the special teams including 24 power play and two shorthanded markers
-Over Rockford's last six games, the IceHogs have held their opponents to 2-32 on the power play, a 93.8% penalty kill rate
-During that same stretch, the IceHogs power play is 7-32 (21.9%) on the power play
-Winger Tim Brent is third in the AHL with 10 power play assists and is still looking for his first even-strength point of the season
-The IceHogs have outshot their opponents in five of their last six games after doing it just twice in their first 13 contests
-Corey Crawford has received 3.63 goals per game this season of support while Antti Niemi has gotten just 2.30 goals from the IceHogs per game when he's in goal
-Crawford has been in goal for each of Rockford's four games in which they scored five or more goals
Hot Hog Week 7:
Rockford winger Jack Skille chipped in three goals for the IceHogs during Week 7 of the 2008-09 American Hockey League season. Skille notched Rockford's only goal on Friday night in the Hogs 3-1 loss against Peoria then helped the IceHogs rebound on Saturday when he lit two lamps in Rockford's 5-4 shootout win.

Upcoming Games:
Wednesday, Nov. 26 vs. San Antonio Rampage: Game time is slated for 7:05 p.m. It's the first meeting between the Rockford and San Antonio in 2008-09. The first 5,000 fans in attendance will get a special 10th Anniversary Pin courtesy of OSF Health Care. Also, Superfan Cameron Hughes returns to the Rockford MetroCentre by popular demand courtesy of WTVO-TV and Rock Valley College. It's another Student Rush Night presented by 104.9 FM, WXRX as any college or high school students can get the best available seat for just $10 if they come within an hour of game time.
Friday, Nov. 28 at Peoria Rivermen: Game time for 7 p.m. Rockford returns to Peoria for the front end of a home-and-home series against the Rivermen at Carver Arena. The game is the fourth of five in the month of November between the teams.
Saturday, Nov. 29 vs. Peoria Rivermen: The game starts at 7:05 p.m. The Hogs and Rivermen wrap up a home-and-home series at the Rockford MetroCentre. The IceHogs along with Dental Dimensions and KTEL Construction welcome Jennette McCurdy, co-star of the Nickelodeon hit show i Carly to the MetroCentre. Jennette will sign autographs during the game.

Rockford IceHogs fans can catch all of the IceHogs regular and post-season games on the Hogs flagship radio station Rockford's Voice, WNTA-AM 1330 and 30 regular season games on ESPN Radio 1380-AM, WTJK. Fans can also watch and listen to the Hogs on the World Wide Web with AHL Live! Visit the IceHogs Web site (icehogs.com) and click on the "click here to watch the AHL Live" icon, and for just $6, you can catch all of the IceHogs action on your computer. Also, fans with Comcast Cable television can tune in to Channel 57 for all the IceHogs hockey action this season. The broadcast begins with the Pregame Show 30 minutes before the puck drops. Hog Talk Returns Tonight At Cousin's Bar and Grill:
Bud Light Hog Talk returns tonight at Cousin's Bar and Grill. Join Jim Stone from 6-7 p.m. at Cousin's as he chats IceHogs hockey with Hogs Head Coach Bill Peters. Tonight's show will also feature forwards Tim Brent and Jack Skille. Stop out to Cousin's, located on the corner of East State St. and Perryville in Rockford, and take advantage of some great food and Bud Light specials. If you can't make it out to Cousin's, tune into 1330 AM, WNTA.

IceHogs fans can now catch every IceHogs regular season game live on TV! Every IceHogs home game during the 2008-09 season can be viewed on Comcast Cable Channel-57. When the IceHogs are on the road log onto the IceHogs official team Web site, www.icehogs.com, and watch the IceHogs through AHL Live for just $6. Fans can also stop out to the Sports Page, located on Broadway near Alpine Road in Rockford, and watch the IceHogs when the team is on the road.
