
Devils' DiSalvatore named Reebok/AHL Player of the Week

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. ... The American Hockey League announced today that Lowell Devils right wing Jon DiSalvatore has been named the Reebok/AHL Player of the Week for the period ending Nov. 23, 2008. DiSalvatore recorded two goals and five assists for seven points in three games last week as the Devils snapped a seven-game winless streak with three consecutive victories.
On Friday night in Hartford, DiSalvatore recorded a goal and an assist in the third period then converted on his shootout attempt to help Lowell to a 4-3 win over the Wolf Pack. He added an assist in Saturday's 4-1 win over Norfolk, and then led the way with a shorthanded goal and three assists in a 4-1 victory over Springfield on Sunday.
In recognition of his achievement, DiSalvatore will be presented with an etched crystal award prior to an upcoming Devils home game.
In his first season in the New Jersey Devils organization, DiSalvatore leads Lowell with five goals (tied), 14 assists and 19 points through 17 games this season. Originally drafted by San Jose in 2000, the sixth-year pro from Bangor, Maine, has appeared in 384 career AHL games, recording 114 goals and 169 assists for 283 points. He has also skated in five career NHL contests, all with St. Louis in 2005-06.
