@ Rockford (11/21): Ben Bishop stopped all 16 shots he faced in the third period to help the Peoria Rivermen beat the Rockford IceHogs 3-1 at the MetroCentre on Friday night. He finished with 30 saves on 31 shots and earned the No. 1 star of the game. None of the goals in the game were scored at even-strength as Peoria scored a shorthanded goal, a power-play goal and an empty-netter while the IceHogs lone tally came on the power play. Alex Imbeault, in his first game with the Rivermen, scored the game-winner at 7:47 of the second period. Chris Conner's empty-netter marked his sixth consecutive game with a goal.

vs. Hamilton (11/22): The Peoria Rivermen out-shot the Hamilton Bulldogs 47-22 on Saturday night but the Bulldogs scored five times in the third period en route to a 7-4 win at Carver Arena. Ivan Vishnevskiy scored his first professional goal and registered the first four-point night (two goals, two assists) for a Rivermen this season. A 2-2 tie was broken open in the final 20 minutes of the game as the two teams combined for seven goals. It was the first time the Rivermen had allowed more than three goals in a period and the total of seven was the most goals allowed in a game this year.

NEWS AND NOTES

Shooting Star...Dallas Stars prospect Chris Conner's six-game goal streak came to a close in Saturday's 7-4 loss to Hamilton. He matched Mark Mancari of Portland and Brian Willsie of Lake Erie who each scored in six consecutive games earlier in the season. Conner now leads the Rivermen in goals with 10.

Still Streaking...Although his goal streak may be over, his road-goal streak is still active at four games and his road-point streak is still active at six.

Revenge in Rockford...After falling to the IceHogs just five days earlier, the Rivermen responded by downing Rockford 3-1 on Friday at the MetroCentre. It was just the third road win of the season for Peoria and their first outside of Moline, IL. Peoria is 3-5-0 on the road and their first two wins were both against Quad City, including one in overtime.

Insurance at a premium...Out of the Rivermen's 10 wins, six of them have been decided by two only two goals. They are 6-1-1 in two-goal games and 1-1-1 in games decided by one goal.

Two-riffic...Only two times this year have the Rivermen won a game when allowing more than two goals. Friday's 3-1 win over Rockford made Peoria a perfect 8-0-0 when they hold the opposition to two goals or less.

Scary Numbers...The Rivermen allowed a season-high seven goals on Saturday night to Hamilton, including a season-high five in one period. They had only allowed five or more goals three times (Oct. 10, Oct. 24, Nov. 14) before Saturday's third-period explosion.

Winning the wrong game... Peoria was out-shot 31-19 on Friday night in their 3-1 win over Rockford. They out-shot Hamilton 47-23 on Saturday but lost 7-4. Their 47 shots was season-high while 19 was a season-low.

Heavy Artillery... The Rivermen put together three consecutive periods with 15 or more shots on their way to 47 on Saturday. Leading up to the game they had only put 15 or more shots in a single period on the board twice (first period vs. Quad City on Oct. 31 and second period on Nov. 8 vs. Grand Rapids).

Opposite End...The Bulldogs were limited to just two shots in the first period on Saturday night but it was good enough for a 1-0 lead after the first 20 minutes.

100 Club...Jim Jackson's assist on Saturday was the 100th assist of his professional career. Six of Jackson's eight assists this season have come on the Rivermen power play. The majority of the assists and his 315 pro games has been spent in the ECHL with the Gwinnett Gladiators. He has 62 ECHL assists in 226 games and 26 assists in 52 games while playing in Germany with Kaufbeuren ESV.

Keep your hats on...Ivan Vishnevskiy became the fourth Rivermen player to score two goals in a game. Julian Talbot, Steve Regier and Brad Winchester have all done it with Regier accomplishing it twice. No one has scored three in a single game yet for the Rivs.
