ALBANY, NY - The Albany River Rats announced today that right wing Pat Dwyer has been recalled to the Carolina Hurricanes, their National Hockey League affiliate, for the second time this season. Albany also announced that rookie forward Harrison Reed has been reassigned by Carolina to the Florida Everblades of the ECHL.

Dwyer, 25, is being recalled on an emergency basis after Hurricanes right wing Patrick Eaves sustained an upper-body injury in Carolina's game on Sunday against Nashville. This mark's Dwyer's second NHL recall of the season, who had five points (3 goals, 2 assists) in 11 games for the River Rats this season. The Great Falls, Montana native was recalled from Albany on November 2 and made his NHL debut that day against the Toronto Maple Leafs. Dwyer (5'11", 175 lbs.) averaged 9:08 of ice time per game, including 2:54 of shorthanded ice time per game, while playing in seven games during his first playing stint in the NHL. Dwyer is expected to be in the Hurricanes lineup Monday night as they travel to Florida for a 7:30 pm face off with the Panthers at BankAtlantic Center.

Reed, 20, will join the Everblades for his first career stint in the ECHL after being reassigned by Carolina on Monday. The Newmarket, Ontario native made his professional debut with the River Rats on October 11th during the team's 2008-09 season opener against Bridgeport. Reed (6'1", 188 lbs.) has appeared in 11 games for Albany so far this year and has one goal and two penalty minutes.

The River Rats are back in action on Thursday, November 27th with a 6:00 pm Thanksgiving game against the Binghamton Senators at the Broome County Veterans Memorial Arena.
