Syracuse Crunch Release Details of Second Annual 'Brown & Brown Empire State Crouse Hospital Hockey

Syracuse, NY (January 30, 2012) - The Syracuse Crunch announced today, that the Crunch Foundation the club's charitable arm, is partnering with Crouse Hospital to host the second annual 'Brown & Brown Empire State Crouse Hospital Hockey Classic,' presented by Excellus BlueCross BlueShield, to be held Saturday, Feb. 4, 2012.

At 1:30 p.m. and 3:30 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 3 and Saturday, Feb. 4 the Brown & Brown Selects and three additional Syracuse area teams will compete in a tournament in the War Memorial Arena, culminating in a championship game at 3:30 p.m. Saturday, followed by the Syracuse Crunch vs. the Rochester Americans game at 7:30 p.m.

Between Saturday's games, a reception will also be held in the lower level of the War Memorial featuring family-friendly activities, a bounce house, food and refreshments.

The event will also include a silent auction, which will be located on the second floor concourse of the War Memorial. Additionally, a limited number of special edition mystery pucks will be available for purchase. Each mystery puck is autographed by a Syracuse Crunch player and will be available for $10.

Proceeds from the silent auction, Crunch Foundation Prize Wheel, mystery pucks and ticket sales will all benefit the Baker Neonatal Intensive Care Unit at Crouse Hospital, a New York State Level IV regional referral center for premature and critically ill infants. In the fifteen county regions it serves, the neonatologists care for up 1,000 infants each year, providing coverage 24 hours a day and 365 days a year for babies born as young as 24 weeks gestation and weighing just 500 grams.

The All-Star ticket package is available for $22, which includes a ticket to all Hockey Classic tournament games, entrance to the Hockey Classic Reception and a ticket to the Crunch Game at 7:30 p.m. vs. the Rochester Americans.
