Florida Panthers Recall Tyson Strachan

SUNRISE, Fla. (January 20, 2012) - Florida Panthers Executive Vice President & General Manager Dale Tallon announced today that the club has recalled defenseman Tyson Strachan.

Strachan, 27, earns his second call-up of the season to Florida. The 6-foot-3, 215-pound defenseman made his Panthers debut on Jan. 24 in Florida's 3-2 shootout loss against Philadelphia. Prior to playing with Florida, Strachan appeared in 67 National Hockey League contests, all with St. Louis (2008-11), registering six assists and 82 PIM. He has played in 32 games for San Antonio this season recording 12 points (3-9-12) and 31 PIM.

The Melfort, Sask. native was drafted by the Carolina Hurricanes in the fifth round (137th overall) in the 2003 NHL Entry Draft.

The Rampage will host their second annual Pink in the Rink Night this Friday at 7 p.m. at the AT&T Center. The Rampage will wear pink-themed jerseys that will be auctioned off after the game to benefit Komen San Antonio.
