NORTH RICHLAND HILLS, Texas (December 18)-The Brahmas six game streak was snapped Friday evening when they fell to the Arizona Sundogs 4-1 in the desert.

An ugly start by Texas resulted in an early breakaway goal from Arizona's Konrad Reeder that gave the Sundog's the lead in the first. But, it was Kevin Gardner's fake-out on netminder Brett Jaeger that seemed to knock the wind out of the Brahmas' sails and hand them the 2-0 deficit. Gardner froze Jaeger to the side of his net and was able to tuck the puck underneath the goalie's leg for his ninth of the season. After 13 shots faced, Jaeger was relieved by Joe Palmer when he went down awkwardly in efforts for a save.

The second period was hauntingly similar in the beginning when Arizona's Jon Landry saved his own netminder, Kyle McNulty, stopping a puck across the crease to eventually move it up the ice to Reeder for a wrister, and his second goal of the night. The Brahmas continued to hammer out the shots, and it was their 21st shot that was able to finally beat McNulty when Anders Strome potted his fifth of the season on a wraparound goal. Newcomer Braden Walls and former ‘Dogs forward Scott Thauwald were credited with the assists.

At the 13:45 marker in the final period Gardner created his own breakaway and was able to beat Palmer on the backhand for the Arizona 4-1 lead.

The Brahmas will conclude their series in Arizona tomorrow night at 8:05 PM; all the action can be caught on CHL TV. Texas' next home game is Sunday, December 27 at 4:05 PM against the Wichita Thunder. After the game will be a free postgame skate for all fans in attendance.
