South Carolina Stingrays News Release
The Week That Was:
The Stingrays finished the week with a 1-1-0 record.
On Friday night the Rays traveled to Columbia to face the Inferno. With starting goalie Davis Parley sick with the flu, Daren Machesney stepped up and secured the victory 4-2. He stopped 34 of 36 shots and held the Inferno scoreless for two periods. Cail MacLean netted the game-winning goal.
Saturday night found the team playing against the Florida Everblades for the first time this season. Machesney was in goal again, but could not stop the 'Blades as they won 3-1. T.J. McElroy recorded the only goal of the night with assists from Evan Schwabe and Matt Reid.
Team Notes
Record: The team is now 12-11-2 for the season for 26 points. They are ranked 5th in the South Division and are 10 points behind division-leading Texas Wildcatters and Florida Everblades who are tied with 36 points.
Roster Changes: Jamie Fraser was called up to the American Hockey League's Syracuse Crunch last week. He played two games with the team over the weekend, but has not yet recorded a point.
Scoring Streaks: Matt Reid continues to score! He has at least one point in every home game he has played in this season for a total of 17 points in nine games.

League Leaders: Nate Kiser's 27 minor penalties this season ranks him 5th in the league and his 89 PIMs ranks him 5th among defensemen.
