Fraser Returns to the Rays
December 18, 2006 - ECHL (ECHL)
South Carolina Stingrays News Release
N. Charleston, S.C. - The South Carolina Stingrays and head coach Jason Fitzsimmons announced today that defenseman Jamie Fraser has been returned to the team from the Syracuse Crunch of the AHL.
Fraser, 21, played in two games with the Crunch without recording a point. He returns to the Rays as the leading scorer with 26 points (5g-21a) in 23 games and is expected to be in the line-up on Wednesday.
In a separate transaction, defenseman Viktor Dovgan has been placed on the 7-day injured reserve. His injuries would have prevented him from playing in this weekend's games against Florida, so he has returned to his native Russia to be with his wife and his newborn child for the holidays. This season Dovgan has a goal and an assist in 22 games with 39 penalty minutes.
Catch the Rays at home on Wednesday, Dec. 20th as they face the Augusta Lynx. It's Carolina MedCare Night with the first 2,500 fans receiving a free t-shirt courtesy of Carolina MedCare.
