Trenton Devils News Release

TRENTON, NJ - The Trenton Titans took the ice for just one game this week, a Friday tilt against the Charlotte Checkers. The result was a 5-2 defeat and Trenton's first two-game losing streak of the season. That, coupled with the team's weekend off, led to the Titans falling into a tie for fifth place in the North Division with the Dayton Bombers. Trenton now stands at 11-8-1, looking to put some distance between themselves and Dayton, as the two teams face each other twice this weekend at the Sovereign Bank Arena.

CHECKED: Bruce Graham picked up a hat trick for the Charlotte Checkers to help send the Titans away from North Carolina with a 5-2 loss. Though Scott Sheppard gave Trenton a 1-0 lead nearly five minutes into the match, Charlotte would tally the next three including a shorthanded goal by Blake Bellefeuille at 4:00 minutes of the second. Though Jim Henkel got the Titans back within one at 1:02 of the final period, Graham notched the next two goals to complete his three-goal evening. Former Titan Mark Lee gathered three assists, while Joel Martin stopped 39-of-44 shots.

ALL GOOD THINGS COME TO AN END: Mike Pandolfo's thirteen-game point streak came to an end on Friday against the Charlotte Checkers. Pandolfo also rode a six-game goal streak (10g) from November 25 to December 9.

STREAKS STARTING ANEW: While Mike Pandolfo's streak has come to an end, Gregg Johnson has registered an assist in each of his last four games. This marks Johnson's second four-game assist streak of the season as he notched seven assists from November 22 to December 1. Defenseman Bryan Miller has also picked up five helpers over the last four games. He and Johnson are currently tied for the third longest assist streak in the league.
