Toledo Walleye News Release
STORM NOTES
* First Week Without Pointing! Following back-to-back losses to Dayton and Reading over the weekend, the Storm finished a week without a point for the first time this season. The losses dropped Toledo from its perch atop the ECHL North Division (tied for third with Johnstown).
* Magnificent Mags! Ken Magowan collected the Storm's first 3-goal game of the season Friday night in a 5-3 loss at Dayton. The first two goals Ken scored were deflections, and the third was a backhand past Dayton goaltender Adam Berkhoel.
* Power Play! The Storm Power Play has gone five consecutive games without scoring. For the season, Toledo has scored 16 power play goals in 158 chances (10.1%), which ranks 24th in the ECHL.
* Penalty Kill! The Penalty Kill Unit has stopped 134 of 159 times they have been shorthanded (84.9%). That ranks 8th among all ECHL teams.
STORM WATCH
* Storm and Cyclones go home and home! Starting with a Thursday night tilt in Cincinnati, the Storm and the Cyclones will play back-to-back games (Friday in Toledo). The two have split the season series to date 2-2, with each team winning on their home ice. Jamie Tardif has collected 2 goals in 4 games against the Cyclones. Jason Deitsch has scored 2 goals with 3 assists to pace the Cyclones. Tickets for the home game are on sale now at all ticketmaster outlets, the Sports Arena box office, and by phone at 419-691-0200.
* Chiefs in Saturday! Saturday night, the Johnstown Chiefs will be inside the Sports Arena for the second time this season. Toledo has won both prior meetings (5-3, and 3-2 in overtime). That night is a special "Xmas with the Storm" featuring special holiday jerseys and the annual "Teddy Toss" with proceeds from a post game auction of the jerseys and the bears going to Lucas County Children's Services. Fans are urged to bring a new stuffed bear with them that night and to throw them on the ice when the Storm score their first goal of the game!
