Angelidis Gets Call to AHL

Estero, FL - Florida Everblades President and General Manager Craig Brush along with Head Coach Gerry Fleming announced today that forward Mike Angelidis has been called up to the Albany River Rats of the American Hockey League.

The 21-year-old rookie has picked up 18 points (10g, 8a) in 24 games with the Everblades this season. Angelidis heads to Albany for his first AHL assignment of his career riding a five-game point scoring streak during which he has collected four goals and three assists, including scoring twice in Florida's 5-2 win over Columbia last night. Angelidis scored his first professional goal against Cincinnati on November 1 and recorded his first pro hat-trick against Pensacola on November 17.

Prior to joining the pro ranks Angelidis spent four years at the junior ranks with the Owen Sound Attack of the Ontario Hockey League. Last season was a break out year for him when he tallied 53 goals and 25 assists in 68 games with the Attack. Overall his in four-year junior career Angelidis notched 132 points (78g, 54a) in 240 games.

The Florida Everblades, proud affiliate of the Carolina Hurricanes and the Florida Panthers, return to action on Friday, December 22 when they host the South Carolina Stingrays at 7:30 p.m. at Germain Arena.
