
Stingrays Sign Forward Jay Silvia

South Carolina Stingrays News Release
North Charleston, S.C. - The South Carolina Stingrays, celebrating 20 seasons of hockey in the Lowcountry and proud ECHL affiliate of the Boston Bruins of the National Hockey League (NHL), announced today that the team has signed forward Jay Silvia. In keeping with club policy, terms of the agreement were not disclosed.
Silvia, 23, skated in 30 games with the Mississippi Surge of the Southern Professional Hockey League (SPHL) recording 14 goals and 10 assists for 24 points. Currently in his first professional season, the Burlington, Massachusetts, native completed a four-year college career at Holy Cross College totaling 64 points (34 goals, 30 assists) in 140 contests. After his senior season, Silvia dressed in two games with the Worcester Sharks of the American Hockey League adding no points.
The Stingrays continue a three-game road trip against the Orlando Solar Bears tonight, Saturday, February 16 at 7:00 p.m. at the Amway Center and return to the Coliseum on Friday, February 22 for the Dog Days of Winter against the Gwinnett Gladiators at 7:05 p.m. Bring your dog to the game!
