TONIGHT:

The Ontario Reign (35-11-3-2=75 points) will play the Idaho Steelheads (32-15-1-4=69 points) for the 7th time overall this season and 4th at Citizens Business Bank Arena. The Reign are 2-3-0-0 against the Steelheads so far this season with both wins coming at home.

All five contests between these two teams this season have seen more than five combined goals. Reign have 17 goals-for through five games and the Steelheads have 22.

HOW THEY RANK:

The Reign are first in the Pacific Division, second in the Western Conference, and second in the league, by just one point, with 75 points. With 69 points, the Steelheads are second in the Mountain Division, third in the Western Conference, and sixth in the league.

CATCHING THE FISH:

The Reign are 2-3-0-0 against the Steelheads so far this season. Seven of Idaho's top ten scorers against the Reign are missing in action tonight. Six of the players are currently on AHL call-ups (Dowling, Smith, Tousignant, Fyten, Carroll and Mouillierat) and Cepis has been traded to the Trenton Titans. Dan DaSilva is the Reign's leading scorer against the Steelheads with seven points (3g, 4a) and will make his debut tonight after missing 21 games due to injury.

Ontario will need to watch Idaho's special teams as the Steelheads are tied for the league lead with 10 short-handed goals. However, the Reign are tied for first with just two short-handed goals against and have yet to allow and short-handed tally while at home.

POST PERIOD PREDICTIONS:

Both teams have an excellent record when leading after the first period Ontario is second in the league with a 20-0-1-1 (42 points) record and Idaho is first with 21-1-1-0 (43 points). It isn't until a third period lead that the stats lean more toward one team. Looking at the stats Ontario has a slight advantage when leading after two periods with a 25-2-3-0 (53 points) record compared to Idaho's 23-1-0-1 (47 points) record.
