TONIGHT'S MATCHUP: After a bizarre, yet satisfying 2-1 win last night over Trenton, the Cyclones will bid for their fifth straight victory tonight as they again host the Titans at U.S. Bank Arena. The Clones have gone 4-0 this year against their Jersey foes, outscoring them by a total of 16-8. Under Jarrod Skalde, Cincinnati has had Trenton's number - posting a 8-0-1 record.
TONIGHT'S PROMOTION: Cyclones Bowl and Spoon Night / $1 City BBQ Pulled Pork - The first 2,000 fans through the gates will receive a Cyclones Bowl and Spoon courtesy of City BBQ! Plus, all fans can enjoy $1 City BBQ Pulled Pork Sandwiches!
SCOUTING THE TITANS: After last night's defeat, Vince Williams' club still sits in the basement of the Atlantic Division standings and remain ten points out of a playoff spot. Andy Bombach is the Titans' top scorer this season, posting 40 points (20 goals, 29 assists) in 43 games. He scored the lone lamp lighter for his team last night. Jason Cepis is close on his heels with 39 tallies in 46 contests between his time in Idaho and Trenton this year. Goaltender Scott Wedgewood has seen the bulk of the action between the pipes this season, going 15-17-3-1 with a 3.24 goals-against average. The rookie backstop has lost all four meetings with Cincinnati in 2012-13 and has earned a 3.23 GAA. He made 32 saves in the loss a night ago.
About Last Night vs. Trenton: Brian Foster became the 11th ECHL net minder to earn a goal as the Cyclones prevailed 2-1 over the Titans in front of 4,431 at U.S. Bank Arena on Friday night. The victory gave the Cyclones four consecutive and padded their lead in the North Division to five points.
Killing Never Looked So Good: This season, one of the Cyclones' biggest strong suit has been the penalty kill unit. They have extinguished 83.9% of their opponents power plays this season, ranking ninth best in the ECHL. Their 89.1% PK mark at home is the best of any team in the league.
It's Been a While: This is the latest in a regular season that the Clones have been in first place since the 2009-10 campaign, when they held the top spot until late March.
