
Stingrays Game Preview: Stingrays Return to Action with Trident Health Adult Jersey Giveaway Tonight

North Charleston, S.C. - The South Carolina Stingrays, celebrating 22 seasons of hockey in the Lowcountry, take on the Wheeling Nailers on Trident Health Adult Jersey Giveaway Night at 7:05 p.m. at the North Charleston Coliseum. Tonight is the second of three meetings between the two teams this season.
Trident Health Adult Jersey Giveaway:
Be one of the first 1,000 adults inside the Coliseum to receive a Trident Health navy Stingrays jersey!
Climbing the East Division:
The Stingrays enter tonight's matchup on a five-game point streak (4-0-1-0) and are unbeaten in 10 of the last 11 contests (9-1-1-0).
Series Breakdown:
The Stingrays hosted the Nailers back on October 25 at the Coliseum on Opening Night, with the Nailers taking a 5-1 victory. Last season, the two sides met in the opening round of the 2014 Kelly Cup Playoffs with the Nailers sweeping the best-of-seven series, 4-0. All-time, the Stingrays are 9-9-1 against the Nailers.
Jakaitis Standing Tall:
Goaltender Jeff Jakaitis is third in the ECHL with a 2.18 goals-against average and is unbeaten in his last eight games (6-0-1-1). Netminder Adam Morrison is right behind Jakaitis in the standings with a 2.21 goals-against average.
Herbert Returns:
Late last night, the Stingrays' American Hockey League (AHL) affiliate, the Hershey Bears, announced that forward Caleb Herbert has been reassigned to the team. Herbert, 23, has eight points (six goals, two assists) in nine games with the Stingrays and two assists in 12 contests with the Bears this season.
Former Nailer Sylvester Looks to Continue Hot Streak:
Stingrays forward Cody Sylvester carries a three-game point streak (one goal, three assists) into tonight's contest against the Nailers. Sylvester skated in 49 games with the Nailers last season, tying for third among ECHL rookies with 24 goals and 17 among first-year players with 44 points.
