TONIGHT:
The Ontario Reign (15-10-2-3) play the second of a two-game set on the road against the Idaho Steelheads (17-10-1-2). This is the seventh meeting of the season between these two clubs. Both teams have split wins though six games, although Idaho still holds the edge by virtue of the extra point picked up in its shootout loss on Friday night; all three of the wins that Ontario has earned against Idaho this season have come on the road at CenturyLink Arena.
FREIBERGS ON FIRE SINCE RETURN:
After earning his first two career AHL points with a pair of assists last Friday for the St. John's IceCaps, Ralfs Freibergs was promptly reassigned to Ontario, and hasn't skipped a beat, picking up four helpers in three games since rejoining the Reign.
COUTURE NEARING HISTORY:
Reign captain Derek Couture's goal on Friday gave him 80 career goals in an Ontario uniform; he is now four goals away from setting the new club record, currently held by Kyle Kraemer.
CARZO GOES FISHING:
Rocco Carzo's goal against the Steelheads last night gave him five on the season against Idaho; more than any player on either team in the season series. His +3 against the Steelheads is also the only positive plus-minus of the top eight scorers in the season series as well.
CANNATA BACK IN LINEUP:
The reassignment of Joe Cannata to the Reign by the Vancouver Canucks is a welcome addition. The goalie currently leads the ECHL with a 1.77 goals-against average and a .934 save percentage.
