West Valley City, UT- Grizzlies' goaltender Mike Mole made 36 saves and Keith Johnson totaled one goal and one assist as the Steelheads fell to the Grizzlies 3-1 on Saturday night in front of 3,946 fans at the E-Center.

The loss snaps the Steelheads (4-3-6) five-game unbeaten streak and keeps them in third place in the West Division, while the Grizzlies (6-8-0) are now just two points out of third place, having won the last two games of this series.

The Grizzlies picked up the game's first goal on an even-strength tally by Trevor Smith at 5:36 of the first period. On the play, Steelheads' goaltender Kellen Briggs (20 saves) stopped Johnson's initial shot but the rebound came free to Smith at the side of the crease and he was able to pot his fourth of the season. Tyler Haskins registered the second assist.

With just six seconds left in the opening period, Johnson was left unmarked coming into the Steelheads' slot and he snapped a shot past the glove side of Briggs for his fifth marker of the year. Olivier Labelle and Andy Sertich grabbed the assists.

Through 20 minutes of play the shots favored the Grizzlies 11-10.

Early in the second period, Micheal Haley registered his third goal of the series and team-leading of the seventh of the campaign to make it a 3-0 game. Scott Ford and Scott Burt set up the goal, which Haley deflected past Briggs moments after a Grizzlies' power play expired.

The second period saw the Steelheads out-shoot the Grizzlies 12-11, while Lance Galbraith and Burt both received game misconducts for their respective squads. Galbraith earned a major slashing penalty leading to his early exit, and Burt got the gate for not having his fight strap properly secured.

Rallo helped the Steelheads avoid their second shutout defeat of the season by netting a power play goal at 14:58 of the third period. The Gurnee, IL native fired a right circles shot that glanced off a Grizzlies' defenseman and past Mole to cut the deficit to 3-1.
