Ice Pilots Get First Road WIN, Defeat Sea Wolves 4-3

BILOXI, MS - On the strength of three power play goals, the Ice Pilots earned their first road victory of the season, defeating the Sea Wolves 4-3 at the Mississippi Coast Coliseum.

Mississippi took the early lead 1:59 into the game as Travis Lisabeth netted his third of the season to put the Sea Wolves up 1-0. Pensacola returned the favor just a minute after as Mike Sgroi netted his second goal of the season, on the power play to tie the game at one. Sgroi has now scored a point in all three of the games he has played for the Ice Pilots. The Sea Wolves retook the lead with a goal from Lance Monych on the power play.

The Ice Pilots finished the first period strong as Mike Tuomi and Mathieu Roy scored three minutes apart to give their Ice Pilots their first lead of the night at 3-2.

The Sea Wolves tied the game in the second on a goal from Torry Gajda. However, the Pilots retook the lead on a power play goal from Mike Ullrich. It was his first professional goal. John Daigneau made 27 saves for his first win as an Ice Pilot.

For the first time this season the Ice Pilots out shot an opponent as Pensacola registered 38 shots with Mississippi finishing the game with 30 shots. The Ice Pilots finished the game 3 for 11 on the power play while the Sea Wolves went 1 for 4.
