Stars Comeback for 3-2 Win

Plymouth, MI - Backed by a three-goal third period, the Stars beat Team USA 3-2 and improved to 7-1-0 on the season.

Team USA opened the scoring at 14:52 of the first period when forward Jacob Tortora moved into the right circle and beat Stars goalie Peyton Jones on the blocker side.

The U-17s took a 1-0 lead into the first intermission.

The Stars came out reenergized for the second period, but were unable to find the back of the net.

Team USA forward Grant Mishash made it 2-0 at 11:19 of the second, scoring on a backdoor rebound.

Lincoln cracked the code in the third, earing three third period goals to topple Team USA in exciting fashion.

Will D'Orsi notched the Stars first goal on the power play at 7:25 of the period. Biagio Lerario then made it 2-0 for the Stars one minute later.

The Stars waited until late in the game to complete the comeback. With 58 seconds remaining, Adam Brady scored a power play goal for the game winner and gave the team their sixth consecutive win.

Jones finished the game with 22 saves and improved to 4-0-0 on the season.

The Stars return to action tomorrow night at 6:00 p.m. CST at the USA Hockey Arena to face Team USA for the final time this season.
