Waterloo, IA - Mitch Perrault, Nathan Krusko, and Brannon McManus scored third period goals just 4:54 apart from one another to help the Omaha Lancers capture a comeback victory, 4-3, on the road Friday night against the Waterloo Black Hawks inside Young Arena.

Waterloo took the lead early in the first period. Alex Robert sent the puck by goaltender Zackarias Skog for his second goal of the season to give the Black Hawks a 1-0 lead. Shot from inside the blue line after their power play came to an end. Robert's goal came at 4:47 of the first and the only assist was credited to Cameron Orchard.

Lancers' captain Nick Rivera took advantage of a power play chance to even the score in the second period. As the man advantage was winding down, Rivera took the puck in the right wing circle and sent a low wrist shot that beat Black Hawks' netminder Cale Morris to tie the game 1-1. The goal was Rivera's second of the season with the only assist from Josh French at the 3:44 mark. The assist by French was his second of the year and fourth point overall.

Later in the second period Zack Skog denied a first chance but the rebound was tapped in. After Skog stopped a two-on-one rush, the puck fell out of his pads and landed in the crease. Waterloo's Hunter Luhmann slid in his first goal of the season to give the Black Hawks a 2-1 lead with 6:30 left in the second. Luhmann's tally was assisted by Shane Bowers, his second helped of the year and Kevin Charyszyn, his third.

Omaha came out flying in the third period and changed the game. Three goals in 4:54 gave the Lancers a 4-2 lead less than six minutes into the third frame. A chance by Waterloo was denied by Omaha who started the transition quickly out through the neutral zone. Mitch Perrault fired the puck in to tie the game up 2-2 just 1:16 into the third on his third goal of the season.

At 3:01 of the third, Nathan Krusko gave the Lancers their first lead of the night. Krusko moved into the right wing circle and let a rocket go that beat Cale Morris over his right shoulder, under the cross bar, for the 3-2 lead. It was Krusko's second of the weekend and fifth of the season with the only assist to Hank Crone.

Just 2:09 after Krusko gave Omaha the lead, Brannon McManus added to it. Mitch Perrault hit McManus with a lead pass as he snuck around the defense at the blue line. McManus faked forehand, and sent the backhand shot by Cale Morris to give the Lancers a 4-2 lead. The goal was McManus' third on the year and the only assist went to Perrault with the pass.

The Black Hawks responded shortly after to pull within a single goal of tying the game. Yuri Terao fired a one-timer on net from the top of the offensive zone circles that beat Zackarias Skog to decrease Omaha's lead back to 4-3 at 7:57 of the third period.

In the end, Waterloo couldn't tie the game late with the net empty and Omaha picked up a 4-3 comeback win on the road. Zackarias Skog was credited with the win after stopping 32 of 35 he faced.

The Omaha Lancers are back home at Ralston Arena tomorrow night for Faith & Family Night! The puck drops at 5:05 p.m. and fans can listen live beginning at 4:50 p.m. with the Valpak Pregame Show on "The Mighty" 1290 KOIL, Mighty 1290 KOIL Mobile APP, www.mighty1290koil.com, and FASTHockey.com.
