Special Teams Help Lead Falcons to 5-2 Win Over Reign

FRESNO, CALIFORNIA - The Fresno Falcons beat the Ontario Reign tonight 5-2 in their first meeting of the season between the first and second place division rivals.

The Falcons got off to another quick start with Oren Eizenman scoring just :41 seconds into the game off assists from Brendan Turner and Jarrett Konkle. The Reign scored two quick goals on the power play while Brendan Turner was serving a double minor penalty for high sticking. Igor Gongalsky tied the game and Matt O'Dette put the Falcons ahead scoring the game winning goal on the power play, his first of the season, at 2:10 of the second period opening up scoring of three unanswered goal capped by a short-handed goal by Spencer Carbery at 16:00 of the third period.

The Falcons improve to 9-4-1-0 and lead the Pacific Division with 19 points, three points ahead of the second place Reign.

The Falcons host the Reign again tomorrow night at Selland Arena at 7:35 p.m. Saturday night is T.H.I.N.K. at the Rink night, a celebration of Fresno educators and the Fresno Teachers Association.

Sunday, November 23, 2008, the Falcons host the Phoenix Roadrunners at 7:05 p.m. for Family Day sponsored by AT&T The Real Yellow Pages with a buy two tickets get two tickets free coupon located in the yellow pages book.
