
RoadRunners Acquire Swanson From Victoria

PHOENIX, Ariz. - The Phoenix RoadRunners of the ECHL, a proud affiliate of the San Jose Sharks and the Worcester Sharks, announced today that they have acquired defenseman Jeremy Swanson from the Victoria Salmon Kings in exchange for future considerations.
Swanson, 24, collected two assists and 12 penalty minutes in 13 games with the Salmon Kings. The Red Rock, Ontario native and fifth-year professional tallied one goal and six points in 48 games last season between the Wheeling Nailers and Cincinnati Cyclones, and was a member of the Cyclones' 2008 Kelly Cup Championship team.
A sixth-round draft choice by the Florida Panthers at the 2002 NHL Entry Draft, Swanson has skated in 79 career American Hockey League games with San Antonio and Rochester and registered one goal and six points in those contests. He enjoyed a four-year career with the Sault Ste. Marie Greyhounds and the Barrie Colts of the Ontario Hockey Leauge from 2000-04 where he recorded 22 goals and 106 points in 255 games. Swanson has four goals, 24 assists and 28 points in 213 professional games.
In a separate transaction, the RoadRunners have traded rookie forward Wes Clark to the Charlotte Checkers in exchange for future considerations. Clark netted three assists in 10 games with the RoadRunners.
The RoadRunners begin a brief two-game road trip when the visit the Bakersfield Condors at 8:00 p.m. Saturday at Rabobank Arena. Catch all the action live on Independent 1310 KXAM beginning with "RoadRunners Countdown" at 7:45 p.m.
Phoenix returns to US Airways Center Saturday, Nov. 29 when they welcome the Las Vegas Wranglers at 7:05 p.m.
