
Chiefs Trade For Former Maine Standout

JOHNSTOWN, Pa. - The Johnstown Chiefs, ECHL affiliate of the NHL's Colorado Avalanche and Columbus Blue Jackets, and the AHL's Lake Erie Monsters and Syracuse Crunch, announced today that they have acquired Wes Clark from the Charlotte Checkers in exchange for future considerations.
Clark is a 25-year-old rookie who began the season with the Phoenix RoadRunners (ECHL) and collected three assists in ten games. He was traded from Phoenix to Charlotte before being picked up by Johnstown. A right-handed right winger, Clark earned his first professional assist in his pro debut for Phoenix on October 17 against Victoria.
A native of Oakville, Ontario, Clark played four seasons at the University of Maine (NCAA). In his senior season he led the team in goals (10) and points (21), and also set a career high with 11 assists. In 2006-07 Clark help lead the Black Bears to their second straight appearance in the NCAA Frozen Four, producing eight goals and five assists in 32 games. In his collegiate career Clark played in a total of 83 games, and amassed 20 goals, 21 assists, and 54 penalty minutes.
