VICTORIA, BC - Bryan Miller whistled a snap shot past Victoria goalie Jonathan Boutin at 1:52 of overtime, giving the Aces a 4-3 win in the rubber match of their series against the Salmon Kings before 4,661 Saturday at the Save-On Foods Memorial Centre.

Alaska owns a 17-5-3 record against Victoria on Canadian soil since the 'Kings entered the ECHL in 2004. The Aces maintain a five-point lead in the West Division over second-place Phoenix. Alaska (12-3-1) looked ready to break the game open after first period goals by Jordan Foreman and Luke Erickson and a second period power play tally from Colin Hemingway, his 10th of the season, but the 3-0 lead did not hold up, despite the best efforts of Chris Holt, who finished with 43 saves.

The Salmon Kings (8-7-2) began their comeback with a power play goal of their own, scored by Sean Landolt on a one-timer from the high slot with 4:57 remaining in the second period. Dan Gendur slammed home a rebound to pull Victoria within 3-2 at 2:39 of the final stanza, and Olivier Labelle registered the equalizer off the rush with 14:30 still left in regulation.

Neither club could break the tie until Labelle took a high-sticking penalty at 1:45 of the extra session. Seven seconds later, Miller's shot found the top right corner, beating Boutin over the left shoulder and making a winner out of Holt, whose Friday start came after a 26-day lay-off. Alaska was out-shot 23-12 over the first 20 minutes and 46-29 for the game.

The Aces fly home to Anchorage tomorrow, but head back on the road Thanksgiving Day in preparation for next Friday's match-up at Stockton. The game will broadcast live on the flagship home of Aces hockey, KFQD 750 AM, with Peanut Farm Pre-Game Show coverage beginning at 6:15 p.m. ADT. Alaska's next home game is scheduled for Wednesday, December 3 against Bakersfield.
