Bombers Win At South Leading South Carolina 3-2

NORTH CHARLESTON, SC -- The Dayton Bombers take a 3-2 lead in the second and make it stand up to defeat South Carolina 3-2 Saturday night.

The Bombers fell behind 1-0 at 13:44 of the first when the Stingray's Jeff Corey netted a shorthander. On the same power play opportunity, the Bombers tied it at 14:32 as Danny Lapoint scored (his seventh of the year) with assists to Greg Labenski and Mike McLean. They took their first lead with 32 seconds left in the period when Justin Bowers scored his 6th of the year assisted by Nino Musitelli and Labenski.

South Carolina tied it 2-2 at 3:45 of the second when Jeff Corey scored his second of the night assisted by Zach Tarkir and Kevin Johnson. Dayton scored the winning goal at 12:23 of the second on Dan Riedel's seventh of the year with assists to Ryan Smyth and Joe Van Culin.

Dayton goaltender Paul Drew saved 18 of 20 opportunities,

The Bombers finish up the southern road trip Sunday at Augusta at 4 p.m. The game will be broadcast on the B-2 Networks beginning at 3:45 p.m..
