Sounds Stall RedHawks Saturday

Oklahoma City - The Nashville Sounds built an early lead against the Oklahoma City RedHawks for the third straight game on their way to a 7-3 win Saturday in front of a crowd of 10,668 at Chickasaw Bricktown Ballpark.
The Sounds scored first and went ahead, 5-1, in the fourth inning as they finished with seven runs against the RedHawks for the third consecutive game.
Nashville (53-48) took a 2-0 lead in the second inning, as the RedHawks (51-51) fell to .500 on the season.
Jeremy Hermida led off the second inning with a walk and Sean Halton followed with a RBI double on a line drive to left field. Halton later scored when Hector Gomez grounded into a double play with one out in the inning.
RedHawks catcher Max Stassi singled home a run in the bottom of the second inning to cut the Sounds' lead in half.
The first two batters of the fourth inning walked for Nashville, then both runners scored on a double to center field by Halton. A RBI single by Hector Gomez later gave the Sounds a 5-1 edge in the inning.
A sacrifice fly by Jason Rogers put Nashville ahead, 6-1, in the fifth.
Matt Duffy belted the first pitch he saw past the RedHawks bullpen in left field and onto the concourse for his ninth home run of the season in the bottom of the fifth inning, cutting the Sounds' lead to 6-2.
With one out in the inning, Jio Mier singled. Joe Sclafani popped out for the second out of the inning before Ronny Torreyes was hit by a pitch. Marc Krauss then drew a walk to load the bases for Austin Wates. Wates drew a walk to score a run for the RedHawks and cut the lead to 6-3. Preston Tucker then lined out with the bases loaded to end the inning.
A RBI single by Eugenio Velez gave Nashville a four-run lead in the seventh.
The teams combined for seven double plays, as the RedHawks turned four - one in each of the first four innings.
RedHawks starting pitcher Tommy Shirley (0-1) allowed seven runs on 10 hits in the loss. He walked four and struck out one in his second game with Oklahoma City since being promoted from Double-A Corpus Christi.
Nashville starting pitcher Mike Fiers (7-5) allowed three runs on three hits over five innings in the win. He walked a season-high four and struck out four.
The RedHawks will try for a series split Sunday as the teams conclude their four-game series with a 6:05 p.m. game at Chickasaw Bricktown Ballpark. Select players will be available for autographs prior to the game, and kids can run the bases after the game.
