Today's Game: The RedHawks continue their series against Nashville at 7:05 p.m. at Chickasaw Bricktown Ballpark, trying for their fourth win in five games.

Friday's Games: The RedHawks split a doubleheader with Nashville Friday in Bricktown. Nashville won the first game, 7-6, and the RedHawks came back to win the second game, 9-7. In game one, Nashville built a 7-1 lead before the RedHawks compiled a five-run sixth inning to cut the Sounds' lead to one run. Nashville scored first, then put together a five-run fourth inning, including a bases-clearing triple by Pete Orr. The RedHawks connected on five straight hits to start the sixth and went on to score five runs in the frame, but fell one run short....Nashville built an early lead again in the second game at 4-0, but the RedHawks scored a combined seven runs in the fifth and sixth innings to take the lead late in the win. Trailing 5-2 in the fifth inning, the RedHawks responded with four runs and took their first lead on a two-run single by Marc Krauss. Nashville regained a one-run lead in the top of the sixth before Oklahoma City added three runs in the bottom of the inning. A single to left field by Jio Mier brought home Matt Duffy to tie the game. Later in the inning, Ronny Torreyes hit a two-run single to put the RedHawks in the lead again, 9-7. RedHawks pitcher Kevin Chapman (2-1) pitched the final 1.2 innings, striking out five of the six batters he faced while earning the win.

Today's Probable Pitcher: Tommy Shirley makes his second appearance with the RedHawks...Shirley made his Triple-A debut in game one of a doubleheader last Saturday at Iowa. He allowed four runs on four hits over six innings, with two walks and two strikeouts. All four runs scored in the fourth inning, but outside of that frame he allowed just one hit and faced the minimum...He was recently promoted to the RedHawks after making 17 appearances (13 starts) for Double-A Corpus Christi, going 7-3 with one save and a 1.88 ERA...At the time of his promotion, he led the Texas League in both ERA and WHIP (0.93), while ranking second with a .201 opponent average...He composite 2.14 ERA is best among full-season Astros minor league pitchers as is his 0.93 WHIP. He also ranks second in the organization with a .201 opponent average, only behind current teammate Nick Tropeano (.197)...The lefty has recorded 80 strikeouts against 19 walks for a 4.21 strikeout-to-walk ratio...Shirley was named a Texas League All-Star and took home Corpus Christi Pitcher of the Month honors for both April and May...Tonight is his first career meeting with the Sounds.

Against the Sounds: 2014: 4-6 2013: 11-5 All-time: 142-124 At OKC: 75-58

The RedHawks and Sounds split their previous series, May 15-18 in Nashville. Three of four games were decided by one or two runs...The Sounds took three of four against the RedHawks April 24-27 in Bricktown, winning each of the final three games. That marked the first time Nashville had won three straight against OKC since May 27-29, 2011, and the first time they won three straight in Bricktown since taking four in a row, July 5-8, 2007. It was also their first series win in OKC since taking three of five Aug. 30-Sept. 2, 2010...The RedHawks have won their last three season series against Nashville and five of the last six...Since the start of 2012, the RedHawks are 27-13 against the Sounds, including a 14-6 record in OKC.

Close Calls: 12 of the first 16 games this month have been decided by one or two runs, with the RedHawks going 5-7 in those contests. Eight of the last 13 games have been decided by just one run, and four of the RedHawks' last six wins have been by one run.

Don't Call it a Comeback: Last night's game two win marked the eighth time this season the RedHawks won after trailing by at least three runs. The RedHawks have trailed at some point in eight of their last nine victories and have trailed by at least two runs six times.

At the Drive-In: Jonathan Villar collected four RBI over yesterday's doubleheader, including three in the nightcap. It was the first time he drove in three runs in a game since May 3 while playing for the Astros against the Seattle Mariners. Villar now has 13 RBI over his first nine games with the RedHawks, with five multi-RBI games. He is batting .583 (7x12) with runners in scoring position.

Petit's Streak: After missing about a week due to a leg injury, Gregorio Petit has hit safely in his six games since returning to the lineup, going 8-for-22. He is batting .375 (10x29) during his current nine-game hitting streak and has hit safely 24 of his last 26 games.

Perez Packing Punch: RedHawks catcher Carlos Perez went 1-for-3 with a RBI and two runs scored in the first game Friday to extend his season-best hitting streak to eight games (8-for-23). The streak is his longest since hitting safely in 10 straight games with the Low-A Lansing Lugnuts in 2012. Perez has also hit safely in 11 of his last 12 games and has 14 hits during the stretch, raising his season average by 30 points from .220 to .250.

Men of Steal: The RedHawks pace the PCL with 21 steals this month and rank fifth in the league with 75 swipes this season...Austin Wates leads the league with 26 steals, despite playing in just 62 games.

Double the Fun: The RedHawks turned three double plays yesterday and have turned 11 double plays over their past six games. They have recorded at least one double play in eight straight games (13 total) and are tied with Salt Lake for the league lead at 114.

RISPy Business: The RedHawks went a combined 9-for-23 with runners in scoring position in Friday's doubleheader after going 8-for-36 during their four-game series in Iowa before the All-Star Break.

Need a Fresh Start: Over the last 28 games, the starting rotation has a 6.26 ERA (102 ER/146.2 IP) and has only produced six quality starts. During that same stretch, the pitching staff overall has a 5.30 ERA (144 ER/240.1 IP), allowing at least seven runs 12 times, while allowing three or fewer runs just six times. Their 4.20 season ERA is the highest it's been since April 28 (4.36).
