On becoming a professional, "It's exciting to step up to the next level. The pros really know how to play this game and carry themselves on and off the ice, and I can learn a lot from them. On playing for the Islanders and Sound Tigers, "It's been great! I've been treated so well and I'm just enjoying the whole experience." On scoring his first professional goals last Friday, "It was an awesome feeling to do it, and it's nice to know I can contribute at this level." Idols or role models growing up, "I always liked Joe Sakic and Steve Yzerman!"
MATTHEW ESPOSITO, a junior at Bunnell High School in Stratford, is the first winner of the Sound Tigers "High School Journalist Competition".
