
1,000,000th to pass through MTS Centre doors Saturday

Winnipeg - True North Sports & Entertainment Limited, the Manitoba Moose, and the MTS Centre are pleased to announce the 1,000,000th fan will pass through the doors of the MTS Centre sometime prior to the game between the Manitoba Moose and Cleveland Barons on Saturday, October 29th. The MTS Centre will reach this mark less than a year after its doors opened on November 16th, 2004.
To date, over 983,000 fans have passed through the doors of the MTS Centre since it opened. They have been entertained by such events as Manitoba Moose hockey, along with the Brandon Wheat Kings and Team Canada's National Junior Team. Fans have rocked to such concerts as Pearl Jam, Rod Stewart, Cher, the Foo Fighters, or Hillary Duff, among many others. Not only that, they have been treated to such special events as Toronto Raptors basketball, the Shrine Circus, Canadian Championship MotoCross, and WWE Wrestling, among others as well.
As a result, less than 17,000 more fans are needed to surpass the 1,000,000 fan mark. The Moose will play the Barons on Thursday, October 27th while 5,000 fans will be in attendance when Jann Arden plays the MTS Centre on Friday, October 28th. As a result, it is projected the 1,000,000th fan is anticipated on Saturday night when the Moose take on the Barons once again.
True North Sports & Entertainment Ltd. will honor the lucky 1,000,000th fan with a prize package to be presented at the door when they pass through gate. The lucky fan will receive two free tickets to every single event at the MTS Centre in 2006 as well as a commemorative Manitoba Moose jersey to mark the occasion.
