Pirates Visit Barbara Bush Children's Hospital at Maine Medical Center

PORTLAND, ME- Today the entire Portland Pirates team took a trip to the Barbara Bush Children's Hospital at Maine Medical Center. The new Pirates players took a tour of the facility and introduced themselves to the kids and the Barbara Bush Children's Hospital staff. The Pirates plan to make many more appearances during the 2005-06 season.

The Barbara Bush Children's Hospital at Maine Medical Center provides and sponsors comprehensive, family-centered health care for the children of Maine and northern New England. The Barbara Bush Children's Hospital key activities include: Collaborative delivery of integrated health care services to children, promotion of children's health, education of caregivers in the principles and practices of healthcare for children, advancement of the knowledge and care of children through clinical research and the treatment of complex medical and surgical diseases in a tertiary care facility.

As part of the Pirates relationship with the hospital, the Pirates will host the 2nd Annual "Skate for the Kids" on February 19th, 2006. Plans for the event will be released in the near future.

The Pirates return to action this Friday at the Cumberland County Civic Center against the Philadelphia Phantoms at 7:05 p.m. On Saturday, "Hockey Night in Portland" the Pirates will host the Binghamton Senators at 7:05 p.m. After the game, join the players a post-game party at the Stadium Restaurant and Sports Bar.

Season tickets are still available for the 2005-06 season at the Pirates office, located at 531 Congress Street in Portland. Ticket plans start at just $50.
