HARTFORD, CT - The American Hockey League's Bridgeport Sound Tigers, top affiliate of the National Hockey League's New York Islanders, lost 6-2 on the road to the Hartford Wolf Pack Saturday.

The Sound Tigers jumped out to a quick 1-0 lead when Sean Bergenheim took a Robert Nilsson feed off a turnover at the blue line to score his sixth goal of the season just 2:53 into the game, but Hartford answered with a pair of power-play tallies.

Thomas Pock tied the score at 1-1 with his fourth goal of the year off assists from Jarkko Immonen and Daniel Girardi at the 11:04 mark, and Daniel Sparre gave the Wolf Pack their first lead at 2-1 with his third of the season just six seconds into an advantage off assists from Pock and Jeff Taffe with 4:53 left in the opening frame. Hartford was 2 for 2 on the power play on the only penalties in the first period.

The Wolf Pack improved to 3 for 3 on the advantage and increased their lead to 3-1 when Craig Weller pushed home a turnaround shot for his fifth goal of the season 6:04 into the middle frame off assists from Girardi and Blake Bellefeuille. Nigel Dawes then made it 4-1 Hartford just 1:51 later with his 11th tally of the year off assists from Colby Genoway and Dwight Helminen.

Bellefeuille upped the lead to 5-1 with his first goal as a member of the Wolf Pack off assists from Sparre and Pock with 3:44 left in the second period. Hartford took the four-goal advantage into the second intermission.

The Sound Tigers replaced starting goaltender Wade Dubielewicz with Frederic Cloutier to begin the third period, but Jeff Taffe made it 6-1 Wolf Pack with his sixth goal of the season 3:31 into the final frame off assists from Pock and Alexandre Giroux.

The Sound Tigers pulled to within 6-2 with a late power-play goal when Dave Karpa took a shot from the right point that was redirected first by Matt Koalska then by Steve Regier with 10:36 left to play. The goal was Regier's sixth of the season and his third in the last four games.

Pock was the first star of the game, Sparre the second and Bellefeuille the third. Hartford was 3 for 4 on both the power play and the penalty kill. The Wolf Pack also had a 55-21 shots on goal advantage marking the most shots on goal ever surrendered in a single game by the Sound Tigers. Al Montoya earned his seventh win with 19 saves for Hartford. Dubielewicz took the loss with 34 saves on 39 shots through two periods while Cloutier stopped 15 of the 16 shots he faced in the final 20 minutes.
