Binghamton Senators News Release

BINGHAMTON, NY - A trio of Binghamton Senators led a furious third period rally on Saturday night for a 4-3 victory against the visiting Providence Bruins.

Forwards Grant Potulny (2 goals, 2 assists), Danny Bois (1 goal, 2 assists) and Gregg Johnson (1 goal, 3 assists) all set new career highs for points in a game as the B-Sens rallied from a 3-0 deficit with less than 14 minutes remaining in regulation.

The comeback began when Johnson scored only 18 seconds after Zdenek Blatny registered his second goal of the game, and fourth of the season, for the Bruins at 5:53 of the final stanza.

After the Johnson goal, it took Binghamton less than three minutes to tie the game as Potulny scored only 38 seconds apart.

The game remained tied until Johnson broke free along the boards to form a rush with winger Danny Bois. Bois took Johnson's centering pass and beat Bruins goalie Tim Thomas. Bois finished with a game-high +4 rating and also had 17 penalty minutes in the contest.

All seven goals were scored at even strength with Binghamton going scoreless in five power-play chances and Providence unable to convert on four power plays.

Billy Thompson won his second game of the season, stopping 30 of 33 shots. Providence goalie Tim Thomas stopped 37 of 41 shots, but lost for the first time in four starts.

The win snapped a five-game home winless streak (0-3-1-1) for Binghamton.

Binghamton returns to action tomorrow night with a 6:05 p.m. contest in Rochester. Follow the game live on the B2 Networks or over the airwaves on 680 WINR-AM.
