
Sound Tigers Moving To News/Talk 960 Tomorrow

BRIDGEPORT, CT â The American Hockey League's 2001-02 Regular Season Champion and Eastern Conference Playoff Champion Bridgeport Sound Tigers, top affiliate of the National Hockey League's New York Islanders, will begin broadcasting on "News/Talk 960" WELI-AM tomorrow, Wednesday, April 2nd.
Beginning with tomorrow's 7:05 p.m. home game versus the Hamilton Bulldogs at Bridgeport's Arena at Harbor Yard, all Sound Tigers' games will be broadcast live on "News/Talk 960" WELI through the end of the Calder Cup Playoffs. All games will continue to be web cast at www.soundtigers.com while WSTC/WNLK 1400/1350 AM will continue to broadcast road games. "News/Talk 960" WELI will broadcast its afternoon show, featuring Paul Pacelli, live from Bridgeport's Arena at Harbor Yard tomorrow from 3 p.m. until 6 p.m.
Tomorrow will be "Military Appreciation Night" with discounted tickets available to all active, retired and delayed-entry-program military personnel and families who show proper identification at the Harbor Yard box office.
Tomorrow's game will be the first meeting between the teams in Bridgeport since game seven of last year's Eastern Conference Finals which the Sound Tigers won when Raffi Torres broke a scoreless tie with 1:27 left in the third period. Torres was traded by the Islanders to the NHL's Edmonton Oilers at the League's trade deadline on March 11th and then assigned to Hamilton. Tomorrow will be his first appearance back in Bridgeport as a Bulldog.
